I talk a lot about awareness on this blog. It’s one of the elements that allows me to have the Joy of Business in my daily work! And I receive a lot of questions about what awareness is and how else can it be used in business. What if awareness could be your first choice in creating your business? Rather than jumping into doing whatever seems logical? How much joy could that actually create? “Most people misidentify awareness. They think awareness is created by going into conclusion, control and judgement rather than by making a choice and asking questions. Functioning from conclusion is “This is the way we do it. This is the way things have to be done. We’re not making any changes here. This worked the last time, so we’re going to do it the same way this time.” Let’s say you’re doing a booth at an expo. Functioning from conclusion and control would be: “Last year we did very well. The booth was great. We have to be in the same spot again this year, and we should do the same things because that’s what attracted people last year.” Is there any space for awareness and change in this approach? No! Functioning from awareness would be: “The expo was great last year. Is it going to be good again this year, or is there something else that we should be looking at?” No conclusions have been reached. You are willing to do the expo, and you are willing to not do the expo. You are willing to have it look very different from last year.” Simone Milasas, Joy of Business book Here’s three questions you could ask every day to create more awareness of what else could be possible:
- What else is possible that I haven’t imagined yet?
- What decisions, judgements, conclusions and computations do I have that keep me from creating the future I would like to have? (And you can run the Access Consciousness® Clearing Statement on these too! There’s more information at www.TheClearingStatement.com)
- What would be crazy possible here that I am not acknowledging?
Welcome to the Joy of Business!! What if every question you ask could create more awareness and more possibilities? (Hint: asking questions does not create answers, it creates awareness!)
