How often do you think about your life and your future, wondering how you could somehow make really big money?

I hate to tell you this, but that’s a great way to keep money from coming into your life! Creating a lot of money isn’t about determining how. It’s about looking at money, business, and your capacities to create in a totally different way.

Here are several tips for creating more money for your life and your future:

  1. Stop calling it big money!

The interesting thing about “big” money is that as soon as you define it that way, it’s taken on a significance that changes your relationship with it. When something is significant, we create all these ideas about what it takes to have it. Money is just money. “Big” money is a point of view, a definition you’ve created.

When you find yourself wishing you could create more money, ask yourself what you’ve decided more money would provide for you. Is it more ease? More fun? More freedom? What is the essence or quality of what you’re actually asking for?

Instead of focusing on the money, begin looking at what you’re choosing and creating, and asking, “Is this congruent with the qualities of life I desire to have?” If it isn’t, what else could you be choosing?

  1. Have more fun.

Most people try to separate their business and the fun parts of life as if creating money is one thing, and having fun is something else. What if business was truly and sincerely enjoyable? What points of view would you have to give up in order to have that as your life?

Money follows fun. What if you started every day asking, “How much joy can I have today?” Making fun a priority in your life invites money to flow to you with more ease.

If you were going to have fun with your business today, what would you choose?

  1. Replace “how” with “what will it take?”

If you tune into a future where you have generous flows of money while wondering how to get there, you’ll lock yourself into whatever you’ve decided is the right way to go about that. In truth, there is no actual right way; there’s only choice. Rather that wondering how, practice asking, “What will it take?’

The question, “What will it take?” is more than just words to throw out there and hope they do something. It’s actually a way of opening up your whole world to ideas, connections, knowing, and possibilities that you weren’t acknowledging because you’ve been focused on things like “how.” It’s a question that allows you to acknowledge the actual steps to creating your future.

  1. Take a look at what objectives you have around money.

An objective is like a theme you’ve given your life where every choice is referenced against it. For example, if you have the objective to never work hard but to have money, all kinds of possibilities may show up for you, but you won’t choose them if you’ve decided it would take hard work. You’ve made hard work the insurmountable obstacle and excuse that keeps you from having the life and money you desire.

Maybe you have an objective to maintain a particular type of lifestyle. If your business requires you to be different, look different, and do things that you’ve decided aren’t you, holding onto your objective will limit what you and your business can generate.

Are you committed to your objectives or to the creation of your life?

  1. Quit being a control freak

When you have conclusions about how things should go, you end up trying to control everything, and miss out on the gifts of what you’re actually receiving.

How many future possibilities for your business are you destroying based on things not showing up the way you thought they were going to?

To have a greater future, you have to allow one. Being a control freak stops the flow of money and possibilities. When you let go, more can show up than you ever imagined.

Creating more money than you ever have before requires choosing what you’ve never been willing to choose. Instead of adding significance to the idea of “big money,” let go of everything you’ve decided it’s going to take and enjoy having a whole lot more fun!
