Pragmatic Tools and Inspirations
3:00 You can’t predict what your day is going to look like. You don’t know how your day is going to show up, or your week, or month or even what your staff are going to do, or your boss, or your products or services. Do you always need to be paranoid and prepared for it? Or is there a different way to look at it?
3.24 At Joy Of Business, we operate from asking questions. If something’s showing up different to the way you thought it would, and you don’t have enough information, who do you need to talk to?
3:50 The Place, by Gary Douglas, founder of Access Consciousness, discusses how you should be in relationship to the planet, other people, your lover, kids, sex, etc. It has this energy of empowering you to know that you know and being in allowance of others and acknowledging what other people’s capacities are.
5:07 What if it wasn’t always you ‘at fault’? If you think that you’re procrastinating, for example, what if you actually weren’t? What if you just required more information and needed to ask questions? It’s the willingness to have a much bigger awareness of how and when something can show up. If you’re not going to the wrongness of where you currently are, what questions could you ask to create a greater future? This is creating a business from awareness and from the joy of it.
5:57 How often have you made yourself wrong for not getting things done, but everything ended up changing anyway? Ask questions rather than deciding that you’re late, or you’re going to miss it, or you’re going to fail.
6:38 Operating from the joy of business is not about making people wrong. For example, if somebody doesn’t want to do a job anymore, it doesn’t mean they are wrong, but it also doesn’t mean you wait for everything to fall apart before you change it. What if the joy of business was about change?
7:54 As an owner of a business or an employer, when things need to change, look at where you can create and where you have to wait. For example, rather than Rebecca waiting for Simone to get back to her, she creates what she can in those areas that do not require Simone’s attention. Ask, ‘what else can I create?’ or ‘what else can I do?’ If you work with busy people, you don’t want everything to stop while you wait for them to get back to you.
10:15 It’s about energy. Your business is about energy too. How many of you make business and money significant rather than fun? What if business was meant to be a light subject? What can you change today, to create your business to be light and fun?
10:43 Look at the energy of when someone makes a whole lot of demands on you. Is that fun for you to do? Or would you prefer someone to just come play with you and say, ‘hey, what are you up to?’ Rather than demand, ask ‘what could we create today?’, ‘what could we choose today?’, ‘what could we change today?’. That’s the energy of how you should be with your business and is, literally, the questions you should be asking your business.
The Green Light
11:40 Give your staff the Green Light to just go ahead and create. Trust that your staff will know when to make a decision and when to ask a question. Simone is the worldwide coordinator for Access Consciousness, a multi-million dollar global company, and she makes so many choices and decisions all the time. Every now and again, a weird energy will come up and she’ll go, ‘I have to talk to Gary or Dain [the co-creators]’. The different energy around it lets Simone know that more information is required, and usually Gary will come from totally left field with a piece of information that changes everything and you realise why you needed to wait or ask more about it.
12:45 For Rebecca, when she was given the Green Light by Simone for Joy Of Business, it was like ‘woo hoo!’ and the energy of ‘really?’; can we really choose that much, can we really create that much, can we really act that much? But by the time we got to about 10 choices in, it became ‘normal’ and the energy did come up of, ‘oh, this I do need to talk to the team about’ or ‘this I need to talk about with Simone’.
16:16 With the major surgery Simone recently had, you very grateful for even the small things, like the ability to move fast. One thing that Simone is very, very, very grateful for is the Joy Of Business team. People have stepped up more and really lead, as a result of Simone needing to temporarily step aside.
16:55 One of the things the team was really trying to do was to not email Simone or contact her, unless absolutely needed. Simone would email the team to ask what was going on and they would get back to her with this is handled and that is handled, etc. The circumstances surrounding the surgery enabled Rebecca to see for the first time that they were really able to generate and create the business as a team, without requiring Simone to be the main source for it. It didn’t happen overnight, as the team has actually had the green light since June, but it has really empowered the whole team, to get greater at the things that they desired to be greater at and to also know that they could handle it on their own.
Letting Go Of Control
18:35 Simone would like all businesses to use the Access tools; which means asking questions, being will to receive contribution, being willing to change things, being more lenient on yourself and not making things significant. If you are going to ‘control’ the business and man handle everything, then you can’t do create a massive business. Gary Douglas has let go of things, despite people thinking he was crazy for doing so, and it has created a phenomenal business. There are now over 3000 Access Consciousness Facilitators all over the world, in over 173 countries.
19:40 One of the things he has brought in is The Bars; you touch 32 points on the head to eliminate the judgments, thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc., that you have around things like money, control, sexuality, bodies, healing, sadness, joy, peace and calm. If you haven’t had your bars run, Simone highly suggests it, because she doesn’t know what she would have done without this process. But, at the time when there were 200 facilitators in the world, Gary knew we had to open up access to this process, because there were billions of people in the world. What he decided was to become a Bars facilitator, all you had to do was do a Bars class with 3 different facilitators; because, if you went to 3 different facilitators, at least one of them would know what they were doing. And, in truth, you can’t really do the Bars wrong. If people all over the world are running Bars, then it’s going to match the energy of what Access would like to change. For example, Israel is now inviting facilitators in to teach them, and that’s the energy of change of the book, The Place. One of the ‘fears’ of others when Gary decided this was that we’d never be able to control the Bars facilitators; but you can’t anyway. We provide them with lots of information, other classes, support, etc., but just because someone chooses to be a Bars facilitator doesn’t mean they are consciousness. However, people are now getting their Bars run all over the world and that’s creating a difference. So he was willing to let that loose. What could happen and what would happen with your business if you were willing to let go of control?
30:35 Rebecca definitely went through a period where she would go, great another meeting – can we make that 30 minutes or not ever? But yesterday we had a great meeting where we just got together and created, rather than the type of meeting where you go over logistics eg where’s this project at, what’s happening with that, etc. So, in your business, could meetings be created more from the sense of what can we actually create together?
Adding New Staff
32:15 One of the things Simone has noticed is, every time new staff are added to a business, things get a bit rocky eg ‘what does that mean?’, ‘will I get fired?’, ‘will they like me?’ and they have all these hidden agendas and hidden secrets about what that could and should be like, rather than ‘okay, new person, what can we create together?’ As Joy Of Business has expanded it’s actually become more in allowance of other’s idiosyncrasies and capacities and willingness to receive all of that, because every single person is different with different awarenesses. A good leader will always ask their staff, ‘what’s your awareness?’ If you ask questions, then you might receive an awareness beyond what you’ve been willing to have. For example, Francesca who is on our team in Italy, has way more awareness of Europe than the rest of us do.
33:55 You have also got to have the ability to change. For example, Michelle is great with systems but we’ve taken her off admin recently because she doesn’t like it anymore. Why would you keep someone doing something if they really don’t like it, because they’re no longer going to do a great job? So we added someone else for admin.
34:30 When everybody has that ability to change, question and choose, and staff are involved in what they like doing, that’s when you can start creating something way bigger than you ever imagined. Because there’s this general sense of joy, communion and happiness.
35:01 A great question to ask every day is, ‘What else and who else could you add to your business that would create greater ease?’ More possibilities will show up. However, most of you will go to doubt, resistance and ‘how am I going to pay them?’ and ‘I can’t, I can’t, I can’t’. You know what? You can’t afford not to! Where would you like your business to be? What would you like it to be creating? How big would you like it to be out there in the world? You have to be willing to add systems and people and be willing to ask those questions. And, just because you hire someone doesn’t mean they have to stay there forever. Have you ever had a one night stand? What if a business deal was a one week stand? Or a one month stand or a six month stand? Be grateful that the person has contributed to the business, and you’ve contributed to them and then maybe it’s time to move on. But you’ve got to be willing to have the constant willingness to change; not through a resistance and reaction or an alignment and agreement but a willingness to follow the energy of ‘what next?’
36:40 A great question to start your day off is ‘what next?’; ‘who do I have to talk to today?’, ‘where do I have to be?’, ‘what or who else can I add to the business to create greater cash flow? Or create greater possibilities?’
37:00 Rebecca started asking every day, ‘who or what requires me today?’ and ‘what would I like to create today?’, and amazing things have shown up. She’s literally had a different day every day since; she could not predict what could happen in a day and so much more is created in every day, even on her worst days. And, if you ask these questions every day, you become them. She can feel things pulling her and when she works on those, she completes them in an instant.
The Importance Of Acknowledgment
38:47 You have to acknowledge how much you create every day. When you think that you’re not creating and you go into the judgment or the expectation, projection, separation, rejection, any of that, you have to be willing to claim, own and acknowledge your capacities and the potency you have to create. Even if you’ve created $5. That is being a great leader.
Follow The Energy
40:25 The more you actually go with the energy and work from what’s required rather than what you think you should do, then the things that do have to be done get carried along with the energy and happen, almost as if by themselves anyway. Simone used to write ‘to do’ lists but all that would happen would be a transference of the same list every day. Now she functions from awareness and follows the energy. When you ask questions, you empower yourself to have that awareness. What if when you don’t do something, it wasn’t meant to be done? What if you never forgot anything and when it comes up, it comes up and that’s when it’s meant to be done?
42:05 What would it look like with your business if you were following the energy? Literally, it’s asking ‘what next?’ e.g. what project do I work on right now? And be willing to choose that, even if it’s just for 15 minutes and you had 10, 15 or 20 projects open at once. What if the number of programs or projects you have open on your computer is the number of money flows and currency flows you had, or the amount of businesses?
52:45 When faced with a choice, ask ‘if I choose this, what will my life be like in 5 years time?’ and ‘If I don’t choose this, what will my life look like in 5 years time?’ Choose whatever’s lighter. It’s not logical. If you try and make it logical, you’ll lock yourself up with thinking that you’ll do; and one of the things we say in Access is, ‘if you’re thinking, you’re stinking’.
53:17 What would you like to choose? What would you like to choose to create your future? What choices could you make today to create the future you know is possible?
54:40 Creating and working like this in business is a practise. Just start with some of the tools discussed today. For example, ‘if I gave my staff the green light this week, what would that look like?’ And be willing to be out of control with it. Try it with one project for one week and see if your life gets easier. If you’re stressed at work or stressed with your business, why are you doing it? What ease could you have?
55:05 Is anyone going to do it the same as you? Absolutely not. Nobody does anything the same, so you have to be willing for it to look different. And you have to be willing to receive that and not control it or micro manage it. You have to be willing fofr people to choose what they want to choose that is actually going ot expand the business and for them to have their life and have that choose.
55:38 What if for one week you had no fixed point of view? For every point of view you have go, ‘interesting point of view I have this point of view’. If you get frustrated, angry, go to lack, scarcity, no matter what it is use this tool. And, ‘if I didn’t have this point of view, what would I choose?’ Because, your point of view is not real; especially a fixed point of view. If you have a fixed point of view, you’re going to lock yourself up and that’s not what life is about; it’s about the adventure of it and having loads and loads of fun. What if your business could be joyful?

If my father, who was my accountant, had told me I had to pay off all my debts before I went to my very first class with Gary Douglas in San Francisco, or any of those lines that comes out that are based in this reality and not in creating your future, then the world would look very different, because my contribution to Access has been massive. So, creating my future was also creating the future for the planet.
51:59 To create consciousness on the planet matched the energy of what I wanted to create, so I went for it; even though I was $187 000 in debt – what was another $10 000? Funnily enough, the book that Gary & Dain discussed at that first Access class I went to, Money Isn’t The Problem You Are, is what got me out of debt. I used the tools in that book and changed my life. If I hadn’t, what would my life look like?

9 Things For Being A Leader

You know when you’re being it. It’s when you are totally being you and you don’t have a point of view and you’re willing to be in allowance, you are asking questions and you’re willing to let go of the form, structure and significance and you’re willing to change something instantaneously. That’s the energy that will create so much more in your life, living, currency flows, money – everything can show up; even better sex!
